Kids Activities

Free Activities:

The following activities will be occurring all day during the Fleece Festival on Saturday, October 23^rd:
1. Spinning Wheel.
2. Wool Carders and Fleece.
3. Corking.
4. Soap Scrubby.
5. Intro Weaving Cards.

Children's Workshops:

General Workshop Information:
Ages: 8 - 14
Participants per Workshop: 10 (max.)
Cost: $12.00 each (supplies included - pay on the day of the workshop)
Duration: 1 hour
Note: Waiver to be signed by parent.

Workshop #1 - Get Spinning! For Kids!
A great introductory workshop for children who want to know a little more about fleece! This hands-on workshop will show some different fibres used for spinning and you will prepare the fleece for spinning. Included in the cost of the workshop, children will get to take home some fleece and a drop spindle to continue their project of making their own hand spun yarn!

Workshop #2 - Dye It! Felt It! For Kids!
If you dream of brightly coloured sheep, this workshop is for you. Children looking for a chance to try dyeing fleece will choose their own unique colours to dye fleece to take home. Use fun dyes like Kool-Aid and beet juice! This is a great introductory workshop for budding felters too. There will be a hands-on opportunity to see different methods of felting and give it a go!
